Homemade Taco Seasoning Mix | Recipe

Learn how to always keep this 3-Ingredient Taco Seasoning Mix recipe on hand. With so much versatility, you’ll be flavoring Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes for weeks. You’ll never have to buy packages of taco seasoning mix again.

  • pint-and-a-half-size jar
  • measuring cups and spoons
  • spice funnel
  • 1/2 cup cumin
  • 1/4 cup garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup chili powder
  1. Start by placing either a small kitchen funnel or a small piece of rolled up parchment paper inside the jar to ensure ingredients only hit the jar when pouring.

  2. Measure all three ingredients into the jar.

  3. Shake and add to your next Mexican dish.

For most Mexican/Tex-Mex dishes, I recommend about 2-3 tbsp of this seasoning mix. Always start with less and add more as needed.

Store this seasoning mix at room temperature in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months. Always be sure the jar is sealed tight to prevent moisture from seeping in.
